I am so happy to watch Ryan Lochte give USA their first gold medal! Disappointed that Michael Phelps didn't place on the podium! Goodness what is life?!?!?! I love both athletes, but coming into 2012 london olympics many people have high expectations for Phelps to do what he did back in 2008. Which i am one of those people who thought that phelps will begin his medal stealing, world breaking career again. It was a big shocker on saturday when phelps came in second and barely made it to the finals for the 400 medley individuals, and was seeded 8th. That was very shocking not only to me but to everyone that has been following him since 2000. Once they began the finals for the 400 watching Phelps going down to lane 8, which is also known as the slow lane, it was hard not to see him in the middle beside his team mate Lochte. Once that horn sounded and they began, you can see phelps doing his best in all 4 strokes, but not as better as Lochte. Lotche was giving it everything even though him and china was kinda synchronizing their strokes together, Lochte was still able to pull through and beat China to get to the gold.
Not trying to say anything bad about Phelps but i still believe this 7th gold medal holder still has it in him. It was only the first race, he still has many more to come. I am hoping that he picks it up and he gives everyone a good show like what he did in 2008. As well as retiring with a big bang! I am still going to cheer for you Phelps and Lochte, continue to show and represent this great country of ours! GO TEAM USA! GO RYAN LOCHTE! GO MICHAEL PHELPS!
love always,
Dom
